Walks, Baths, and School's Out

After much debating about the best way to get out for daily walks with Claire (she's too small for the jogger, the dirt roads are too rough for the other stroller, the bjorn isn't that comfortable...), I finally just tried taking the non-jogger stroller...and it worked just fine! The driveway is the worst part, but Vista Drive (our road) is packed enough for the stroller to roll without too much difficulty as long as I find the smooth patches. Getting this daily fresh air will do much to help me feel like I'm getting some exercise, gives Claire some fresh air, and Hem appreciates the exercise too.
Claire has also gradually been getting to like her baths. Today for the first time we made it through the whole thing with no crying. (Dad taking pictures all the while...) She is starting to interact with us more everyday, so we look forward to those times when she's awake and alert and social.
Yesterday was unofficial "Take Your Daughter to Work Day." It was the last day of school so I needed to be there to finalize grades and clean up my room for the summer. I took Claire along with me to work. (The car was filled with a bouncy seat, stroller, baby carrier, diaper bag etc. so I would be prepared to keep her happy.) She did amazing. She slept through the times when I had students in the room, and then there were so many of my fellow teachers who wanted to hold her, I never even had to use all the gear I brought. I was able to get everything put away and stored for the summer with no problems. Now I don't have to have this twinge of guilt when I watch the school bus go by in the mornings or worry about whether my classes are actually still learning something without me!
