Yesterday was Nate's birthday. I made him a home-made angel food cake (like he used to always request growing up). We thought that maybe the baby would choose to share a birthday with her dad, but after even after a doctor's appointment where we tried some "encouragement" to keep labor started, still no baby. She must have her own agenda because even the doctor can't believe I haven't delivered yet. We decided to give Mother Nature another week before attempting any more aggressive measures like breaking my water.
In the meantime, we continue to work on projects around the house, take some long walks, and I try to not feel guilty about not being at work. (Though I find it hard to picture myself standing in front of a class at this point.) This is a good lesson in patience and letting go of control for me, just one of many parenting lessons I'm sure to learn in the near future.

Hang in there, San. Our 1st little guy was 10 days late as he too came in his own time and taught me about patience. Actually he still continues to teach me about patience.... Its definitely worth the wait! Glad to see the blog is being put to use! Love it!
